A little bit more about me

Growing up in a small village in County Cork in Ireland, some of my earliest memories are reviewing construction drawings and typing letters for my father for his quantity surveying business. 

Into my teens, I built up my industry knowledge spending my summers working with my uncles, residential builders, as well as assisting my father who had branched into residential development. In between, I played as much Gaelic Football as humanly possible which was truly my first love.

After completing college, I began to look for career opportunities in order to develop both personally and professionally. This led me to emigrate to America, initially in 2009, for a summer, then permanently in early 2010. 

Upon arrival in 2010, I joined Reidy Contracting Group, at the time a start up construction company as their first employee. I have worked there ever since and helped develop the company from doing $300,000 worth of revenue per annum to over $250 million by the time I left in 2019.

In 2019, I joined a new start up at Tend as VP of Construction. Over a 4 year period I build the machine to allow the company to scale to it's first 25 locations across 6 new markets. 

At the beginning of 2023, I fully kicked off O'Leary Group. I had been doing various projects since 2018 in a part time capacity but moved it to full time in 2023. 

Coming to America in 2009, I also met the love of my life, Maddie. We have been happily together ever since, getting married in a big family wedding near my hometown in Ireland in 2015. After moving to Maplewood NJ in 2016, we expanded our family in August 2018 with the birth of our son, Rían, and then again in July 2021 with the birth of our daughter, Maia.

Playing and watching Gaelic Football and Hurling (Irish Sports), soccer and golf. I love listening to music and audio books. I'm trying to learn meditation and I'm forever trying to complete Maddie's "to-do list" at our house!
